Introduction
The hospital is organized according to the standards of a Grade A tertiary general hospital, with 45 clinical disciplines providing comprehensive outpatient and inpatient services. It implements Taikang Healthcare’s 6+N discipline development plan, establishing eight strategic and key disciplines: Digestive Medicine, Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Urology, Neurology, Oncology, Cardiothoracic and Vascular Medicine, Geriatrics, and General Practice & Health Management. The expert team is led by Professor Chen Minhu, former Vice President of the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University and Chair of the 11th Committee of Gastroenterology of the Chinese Medical Association. The hospital has recruited 44 discipline leaders, including 36 doctoral and master’s supervisors, over 20 national- and provincial-level committee chairs and vice chairs, and 134 senior-title specialists. Most of them come from prestigious university-affiliated hospitals and large Grade A tertiary hospitals, such as the PLA General Hospital (301 Hospital), Sun Yat-sen University affiliated hospitals, Southern Medical University affiliated hospitals, and Xiangya Hospital of Central South University. With their extensive experience and advanced techniques, they are building Shenzhen Qianhai Taikang Hospital into a high-quality tertiary general hospital integrating medical care, education, and research. In its first year of operation, Shenzhen Qianhai Taikang Hospital has served over 70,000 patient visits, including more than 3,000 visits from Hong Kong, Macau, and international patients, and performed over 1,100 surgeries. Among these, Grade III and IV high-complexity surgeries accounted for 70% of inpatient surgeries, including Guangdong Province’s first arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction using LARS artificial ligament double-bundle technique, Shenzhen’s first transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) with cerebral protection, valve repair/replacement, coronary artery bypass grafting, and many other highly complex procedures.
